چکیده
Over the last several decades, turbine efficiency has improved significantly, resulting in higher operating temperatures that negatively affect lubricating oil circulating through system. Exposure to high results degradation and eventual formation of solid deposits which greatly limit oil’s ability reduce wear cool components. An experimental apparatus was designed built allow for studying better understanding this phenomenon. The consists a flow loop with heated test section is pumped. comes into contact hot surfaces degrades forms deposits. As time passes, deposit buildup decreases heat transfer occurs at section. bulk out are used as indicators induction rate, may be analyzed end experiment. Air or an inert gas pressurize system up 69 bar, while surface 650°C. Data from one initial tests performed using lube included paper. resulted clear on data show decrease temperature over due their formation. Assembly testing have been completed, it now fully operational ready future studies thermal oxidation.

Hydrodynamics of a Gas-Solid Fluidized Bed at Elevated Temperatures Using the Radioactive Particle Tracking Technique
Effect of temperature on hydrodynamics of bubbling gas-solid fluidized beds was investigated. Experiments were carried out in the range of 25-600 ºC and different superficial gas velocities in the range of 0.17-0.78 m/s with sand particles. Time-position trajectory of particles was obtained by radioactive particle tracking technique. These data were used for determination of mean velocitie...
متن کاملTHE DEFORMATION BEHAVIOR OF AZ31 MAGNESIUM ALLOY AT ELEVATED TEMPERATURES
AZ31 magnesium alloy is considered as a promising alloy in various applications and industries. Furthermore, to design a proper hot working process (rolling, forging and extrusion), the assessment of hot working behaviour of the alloy is necessary. Accordingly, the hot deformation behaviour of AZ31 alloy was studied through hot compression testing method This was carried out in a wide range of ...
متن کاملEffect of cinnamaldehyde on oxidative stability of several fats and oils at elevated temperatures
Natural antioxidants recently have gained popularity since synthetic ones have toxic and carcinogenic effects. In the present study, effect of temperature (120, 150 and 180°C) and cinnamaldehyde on oxidative stability of several oils (olive, hazelnut and palm oils) and fats (milkfat and butter) was examined. In order to compare the results with the synthetic antioxidant, butylated hydroxy tolue...
متن کاملThe Lubrication Ability of Ionic Liquids as Additives for Wind Turbine Gearboxes Oils
The amount of energy that can be gained from the wind is unlimited, unlike current energy sources such as fossil and coal. While there is an important push in the use of wind energy, gears and bearing components of the turbines often fail due to contact fatigue, causing costly repairs and downtime. The objective of this work is to investigate the potential tribological benefits of two phosphoni...
